“What drives you, is what guides you!”
There is a point of realization when it comes to a persons health, its the moment when you can no longer look away from the fact that you are unhealthy and thus must accept that you are KILLING yourself. Everybody has a different point, for some its when they can no longer go up and down stairs without being tired;or when you go days without leaving your bed or maybe its simply when you can no longer fit into your pants.
What ever your personal moment of realization is, it doesn’t truly matter; it only matters that you have realized it and are willing to change, grow and finally become healthy. You can never be so out of shape that you can not find your way back. All you need to do is find the right motivation.
The CORRECT motivation will make sure that this change in lifestyle is permanent. The motivation to change and become healthy should be something that is significantly more concrete than wanting to wear a outfit, impress a person or cause you want to look good. Your motivation to change should be something like “I want this for me!”, “I want to play outside with my kids for as long as I want not as long as I can.” My motivation was having a niece.
My niece being born gave me the necessary push I needed to not only get in shape, but also maintain. I want to show her that there is another way to live life and that eating excessively is not okay. I want her to love to play outside, unlike me as a child; and most importantly I want to be there to play with her.
So make the choice today to become an active person and not a passive person. Love yourself enough to live longer for the people who love you.
