Now we all have probably heard the excuse, “I don’t have time in my day because I am so busy.” Well my friend there is always enough time in the day for things you find important. This is a helpful activity you can do that will show you how much time you truly have and show you what you truly value. From the time you wake up write down EVERYTHING you do and how much time it takes; even all the small things. So the things you would be writing down would include, brushing your teeth, going to the bathroom, eating, tying shoes, thinking, driving, walking, talking, sleeping/napping etc. The thing you spend the most time doing is the thing you value the most, and if that thing isn’t something productive maybe you should take time away from that and put it towards something productive.
But I do acknowledge that there are people who work more than 40+ hours a week and can not make it to the gym. So for those people you just fit it in when you can. You are early to pick up your kids do some push ups or walk around their school, you want to spend time with a significant other go for a walk; while baking do calf raises. There are all these option to fit in workouts but the problem is more people don’t take advantage of them.
You can also stand up while talking instead of sitting down, anything that is not sitting is some form of exercise. Now some people do have jobs where they sit all day and standing is not an option; in cases like that take the stairs everyday to work or after work walk to your car and back three times before you leave. The smallest but biggest little thing you can do is simply park farther away from the place you are going, those few extra steps really do make a difference.
A reason I find that people quit on their journey to a healthier life is that results and effects are not seen quickly. I read this passage that it takes 3 weeks to notice your own body changes, 7 weeks for people who haven’t seen you recently and 12 weeks for people who see you daily. This is truly startling to some, but your motivation to loss weight shouldn’t be I want to look good it should be I want to be healthy and experience all that life has to offer.
